Nexans secures important contract for offshore wind project in the southern North Sea
Nexans has been awarded an important contract with ScottishPower Renewables to deliver high-voltage subsea export cables for the East Anglia TWO offshore wind farm in the southern North Sea.

First electrical transmission link from Orkney Islands
Nexans has been awarded the contract for the Orkney Link. The interconnector will exchange up to 220MW of energy between the Orkney Islands and the UK mainland. There will be one high voltage alternating current (HVAC) cable circuit extending approx 69km in route (53km subsea, 15km land) from Finstown in Orkney to Dounreay in Caithness. The significant contract includes both the production and the installation of the cable.

Nexans’ High Temperature Superconducting technology enters the Science Museum in London
Nexans’ superconducting cable is part of the national collection of the emblematic Science Museum Group in London. The cable is displayed in Energy Revolution: The Adani Green Energy Gallery as part of a permanent display, among other prominent technologies empowering the world’s effort to curb climate change. The superconducting cable sample comes from the groundbreaking AmpaCity project in Essen, Germany.

Nexans empowers the UK's energy transition connecting Orkney Islands to Scottish Mainland
Nexans has signed a capacity reservation agreement with Scottish transmission owner SSEN Transmission to supply and install approximately 100 km of 220 kV high-voltage cables, both onshore and offshore. These cables will provide a transmission connection from Orkney to the Scottish mainland. The Orkney Islands represent a major source of renewable electricity potential, and its connection to the mainland will help decarbonize the UK's electricity production.
