For more than 50 years, Nexans Cryogenic Systems has been developing infrastructure solutions for safe, reliable and efficient transfer of cryogenic fluids. They are part of the Energy Transition environment.
We have pioneered the flexible vacuum-insulated cryogenic transfer lines which are essential systems for the industry and today contribute to the low-carbon mobility, aerospace centers, superconducting systems, particle accelerators and LH2 loading systems. Nexans systems include our own both cryogenic transfer lines and their coupling for ensuring a fully integrated system, tested in our factory.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN CRYOGENIC APPLICATIONS
Cryogenic transfer systems: key infrastructure assets for energy vectors and industrial gases
We provide turnkey solutions for applications in energy transition, aerospace infrastructures, industry and research. Relying on our innovation, engineering and manufacturing capabilities, as well as an ecosystem of partners, we have decades of know-how and worlwide experience in realizing cryogenic transfer solutions for all kind of cryogenic fluids, such as LN2, LH2 or LHe to name a few.
Main applications
- Aerospace infrastructures
Nexans is a historical contributor to the aerospace adventure. We engineer and supply high-end cryogenic systems for the safe fueling of rockets with LH2 and LOx.
- Cryogenic lines for industrial applications
Our easy to install & reconfigurable LN2 transfer systems are key assets used in industries where low-temperature processes are critical for product safety and quality preservation, such as food & beverages, medical & pharmaceuticals, electronics.
- Superconducting systems
Our flexible vacuum-insulated transfer lines ensure the cryogenic envelopes function for superconducting HTS cable systems, a cutting-edge technology enabling large power transfer in compact systems, operated with LN2.
- Liquefied hydrogen infrastructures
Nexans cryogenic transfer lines enable the development of new applications of LH2 by providing high flow-rate, long-lengths solutions for tank-to-tank transfer. Our systems are customized for fast, safe and reliable LH2 transfers in ports, airports and refueling stations for road vehicles.
- Research facilities
We develop specific designs of cryogenic lines comprising up to 5 walls and double thermal insulation layers (vacuum, cryogenic guard) applicable to the transfer of LHe at temperatures close to the absolute zero.
Nexans Cryogenics main applications:
The race to net zero is on! To cross the finish line by 2050 industry needs to shed the burden of fossil fuels. But which energy sources have the power to replace them?
